# Pricing

The compute is free. Every intent runs model inference in a real browser on
its own machine, and we pay for all of it: inference, browser, compute and
bandwidth. You pay one thing, a fee on each transaction that completes.

## How the fee works

- The fee is **5% of the transaction total** (items, tax, delivery and tips as
  charged by the merchant), rounded to the nearest cent.
- It is charged to the same [wallet](/docs/wallets) as the purchase, **only
  when the intent completes**.
- **Failed, cancelled and test-mode intents are free.**
- Every receipt shows the fee separately, as `result.fee` in cents.

## Keeping spend in check

`max_amount` caps what a single intent may spend, and wallets support
per-intent and monthly limits; anything outside them comes back as a payment
